TURN UP Multimedia Festival 2023 will be held at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music (Tucson Arizona) March 23-25, 2023. We are featuring visual artist Georgios Cherouvim, guest performer Yunah Lee and her students, and guest audio engineer Ian Corbett.

Guest Artist: Georgios CherouvimGeorgios Cherouvim, born and raised in Athens, is a visual artist and animation director. He graduated with a distinction and an award from the National Center for Computer animation in the United Kingdom. Over the past 15 years Cherouvim has worked as a CG lead and supervisor on the visual effects of several feature films, commercials, Virtual Reality experiences, music videos and art projects. He is also teaching a computer animation class at the School of Visual Arts.
His personal work and animation shorts have been screened in festivals around the world including Ars Electronica, Siggraph, Art Futura, One Dot Zero and Athens Digital Art Festival. Cherouvim has presented his work at the Institute of Architecture and Media of Graz University in Austria, Digitized design conference in Athens, DevHour games conference in Mexico city and recently gave a TEDx talk at the Ionian university about creative coding and digital tools. Guest Audio Engineer: Ian CorbettDr. Ian Corbett is the Coordinator and Professor of Audio Engineering and Music Technology at Kansas City Kansas Community College. He also owns and operates off-beat-open-hats LLC, providing live sound, recording, and audio production services to clients in the Kansas City area. Throughout his career he has balanced education with professional employment in a wide variety of audio industry fields, including theater sound, television and radio, location concert recording, live sound reinforcement, and forensic audio evidence recording. An internationally recognized author and educator, he also frequenty serves as a clinician, guest presenter, external examiner and program evaluator on multiple continents.
Ian’s book Mic It!, Microphones, Microphone Techniques, and Their Impact on the Final Mix was published by Routledge/Focal Press in 2014, and the second edition in 2021. He has also authored articles for Sound On Sound magazine. For more information, please visit https://www.offbeatopenhats.audio |
